Kathleen Fordyce is a San Antonio, Texas based emerging contemporary visual artist. In her vibrant figurative abstract paintings, Fordyce experiments with color relationships, physical and visual texture, and gestural brushstrokes to evoke emotional states and sensations – ranging from calm and contemplative to electric and energizing. Her expressive paintings are primarily created in layers of acrylic on canvas, wood panel, or paper.

Inspired by her own ongoing physical, psychological and spiritual transformations, Fordyce makes work that transports the viewer out of the mundane and into metaphysical realms. Through her mid-life female perspective, she examines themes of introspection, transformation and transcendence.
